The OIE (World Organization for Animal Health) has recently designated Thai-land’s Department of Livestock Devel-opment in collaboration with the Veterinary Pubic Health Centre for Asia Pacific, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, as a new OIE Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Services Capacity Building in Thailand that aims to be a center for developing and increasing capacity of veterinarian in country and international level.

The opening ceremony of the OIE Colla-borating Centre had the honor from Dr. Ayuth Harintaranon, director-general of Depart-ment of Livestock Development and Prof. Dr. Pairote Wiriyacharee, vice president for administration and human resource manage-ment, Chiang Mai University to open the new OIE Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Services Capacity Building at Chiang Mai University on 18th August 2016. It is appreciated to have great participations from all honorary guests to witness the collaboration between Department of Live-stock Development and Chiang Mai Univer-sity. By working professionally together, this is a significant start for benefiting and reinforcing veterinary services in Thailand and regional countries.
