The world Organization for Animal Health (OIE) supported the OIE Veterinary Educational Twinning Program involving the veterinary programs of Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand and the University of Minnesota (UMN), United States of America. These educational twinning programs are an outgrowth of the OIE’s Performance of Veterinary Services (PVS) Pathway, a global initiative to strengthen national veterinary services (both public and private) in order to better address emerging diseases, prevent and control zoonoses and trans boundary animal diseases and assure food safety. Veterinary Services are seen as a global public good because of their critical contributions to public health and the global economy through trade of animals and animal products.

Therefore, the University of Minnesota (UMN)

arranged the OIE Twinning Student Exchange 2014 during May 19 - June 6, 2014 and VPHCAP, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, CMU arranged the project during July 5 – 26, 2014. This project aims to achieve one of the purpose of the above program. VPHCAP organized a ABATTOIRS AND VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH-CLERKSHIP course for 6 students from UMN and it also was great opportunity to exchange veterinary public health knowledge between Thailand and

United States of America.
