It was a blind date. Our mutual friend played match maker. Within two days I was contacted by a
very charismatic man that I can now call my life partner. We met at Galleria de Paco. I arrived first and settled into a booth. I saw him walk into the door and it was love at first site. He looked over at me and started walking towards me, took my hand and I stood up to give him a very comfy hug. We were like two peas in a pod ever since, inseparable.
We had our wedding outdoors and with family, friends and lots of fun. Our wedding was held on May 1st with yellow and sangria themed colors. The tulips and daisies to rise from the ground and provide beautiful colorful scenery for our beautiful wedding.
I found my dress online through David’s Bridal and the entire bridesmaid dresses were from Simply “I Do”. My dress was perfect for me, it was the first dress I tried on and had lace and pearls streaming down the sides along with spaghetti straps made out of diamonds and pearls.
We chose the lakeside view at Alice Wyth Lake to exchange our “I do’s” and the reception was held at the nearby lakeside George Wyth State Park Lodge. The weather was beautiful, 70 degrees and sunny.
Our food was catered by Public Market and we had sirloin steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. One table was set up with finger food consisting of fresh fruit, chocolate fondue and cake balls. We had a beautiful three tiered cake with a bridge connecting to another two tiered cake from Target bakery, along with 100 cupcakes from Scratch Cupcakery to serve to guests.
Our dance was to the song, “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green and the father-daughter dance was to the song “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. We both enjoyed the cutting of the cake and ended up with the traditional “cake in your face” looks. The bouquet toss was eventful, multiple women on the floor and in the end I’m proud to say my little sister caught the bouquet. The night was full of laughter and good times.
We had many beautiful pictures taken by Dan Phillips Photography. By the end of the night, the photographer had a video compiled of all the events which took place from getting ready for the wedding to the activities which took place at the reception. It was an amazing video, brought tears to our eyes.
The following morning we were heading to the airport, ready to be swept away to a great honeymoon in the Dominican Republic.
We would like to thank our family and friends and Vows R Us wedding planners for a great a memorableday, the best day of our new beginning.
