It was during spring break. I was stationed in Pensacola, Florida at the United State Marine Corps and she was on vacation from a small town in Iowa. When I saw her walking on the beach with her friends, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of meeting her, so guess what I did? In our little game of catching the football, I maybe threw it a little too far. Like really far, in order to get her attention. But hey, it worked because I’m happily married to the woman of my dreams.

After a few years of phone calls, skyping, and visiting each other constantly, I decided I couldn’t live without her, so I proposed. She said yes and we began planning the wedding right away with Vows R Us. We decided on a nice spring wedding in Iowa while still making sure to show my Pensacola roots. With the help from Vows R Us, we decided to base the wedding around my marine title by incorporating the red, white, and blue colors into the wedding. My wife decided on an A-Line dress from David’s Bridal that hugged her body perfectly while I wore my uniform. Picking out our attire was the easy part. When it came to the venue, menu, cake, photographer, flowers, and DJ, we couldn’t completely agree or decide until Vows R Us truly put everything into place. My wife and I had a lot of ideas, but Vows R Us made sure to change both of our visions into a combined reality.

Because we wanted to try something new, we choose a small 3 tiered vanilla cake and mini cake balls for the guests from Bite-Sized Bakery that satisfied everyone. People weren’t just impressed by the cake but also by our dinner. Because Pensacola is right on the coast, we made sure to incorporate the sea cuisine into our menu. And of course, we included chicken for the people who aren’t into shellfish.

After the wedding, we caught our flight to our two-week long vacation in Cancun, Mexico. Thanks to Vows R Us, we took risks and they all paid off. Everyone had a great time, especially my new wife and I. I will never forget my wedding day because it was the best day of my life.
