Where would I work?” Thirty manufacturers
answer this question with a permanent 8’ x
10’ poster display highlighting their products
and careers in the centrally located facility
that houses the engineering,
technology and manufacturing
classes. The walls of the Daytona
State Advanced Technology
College (ATC) on Williamson and
LPGA are covered with posters and
banners of the products we make
here and the jobs/careers that
are available.
Each year over 5,000 people see
these posters including the middle
and high school students in groups of 10 to 150 who regularly

Many career posters are hanging in the high schools in
Volusia County. Hundreds of these “Hands on Careers in
Manufacturing” posters are in the Volusia and Flagler County
schools. And over 1,000 t-shirts have been distributed at all
the VMA Education Events. Maybe you have seen them or you
have one!

tour the ATC. The guides typically point out the industries in
the posters. Parents of many students visit the ATC, they are
the ones helping kids make decisions on their educational
path. ATC engineering, technology, and vocational students
spend the most time around these posters getting familiar
with the companies in them. Continuing Education students
attending the Skills for Supervising, Root Cause Analysis,
Microsoft Office, Machining, Electronic Assembly & Cabling,
Emergency Vehicle Technician Training, and more are really
interested in where they will find a job.
