GOODBYE FROM ANNA

It feels like two months, but its actually been close to two years since I joined the Garden Museum. The time really has flown, and I’ve enjoyed (almost!) every minute of it, particularly working with such a dynamic and passionate team. However, I’m going to be leaving at the end of September to work with a project management company who specialise in arts and heritage developments – so I’ll be working on similar projects to the Garden Museum development, but larger and more varied, which is where my professional interest particularly lies. I’ll be keeping in very close contact with the Garden Museum – its such an amazing place to have been a part of, and I know it will go from strength to strength. There will be drinks!! (date tbc…)

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be introducing a gift aided ticket. The gift aid ticket includes a 10% voluntary donation, which means that we will able to claim back 25% of the entire ticket price from HMRC. This could raise an extra £10k per year for the Garden Museum – which as you know is a significant sum of money!

All you will need to do on the front desk is offer visitors the choice of a gift aid ticket or standard ticket, and ask them to fill in a very quick form with their name and address - if they are a UK taxpayer, we will be able to claim back gift aid. We will trial the gift aid entry until the end of the Titchmarsh exhibition, and then review. More information to follow!

Neighbours' cards can be found in the top drawer of the mini filing unit between the two tills on the front desk. Please make sure you know where they are as it is important that we give them out (and have them ready to show our funders when they visit as well!).

Ideally, we’d like people to fill in the forms, but it’s not essential. Anyone who is in Prince’s or Bishop’s ward is eligible, and can have free entry to the Museum whenever it is open to the public.

We have been invited to take part in the event 'Shakespeare in the Park' at Archbishop's Park on Thursday 14 August. The idea is setting up the flower cart next to the Tyger Cafe from 12 to 4 pm, while the interactive show Micro-Shakespeare, created by Laitrum Teatre for the National Theatre, takes place.
