Volunteer 4 Action July/August. 2014 | Page 22

On the 21st of July, we went to a lovely place called Career Wardrobe. The reason I said lovely is because it's for women. Its employees are all women (men can volunteer in other store) its inventory are for woman. The people that help you when you're getting dressed (in the main place) are women. The people behind the scenes, running the organization are women. Career Wardrobe is a place for women to become all that they can be. If they need clothes for an interview, they get clothes as well as something else....they get good vibes, inspiration, and confidence. The staff at Career Wardrobe put together a wonderful presentation for us and explained that there is always volunteer opportunities. Many of the staff members started out as volunteers themselves. While we were there we also had a hands-on experience as we hung up clothes and sorted various outfits. In the end we had the opportunity to ask more questions, absorbing information, and finding out what we wanted to find out for our own needs and our Communiity Service Resource Center at Roxborough High School.
