GRAND DAY
ST, PATRICK’S DAY
St. Patrick‟s Day.
St. Patricks Day is a very significant day for all Irishliving in Ireland and abroad. On the 17th of March
every year we honour our Irish patron saint, St. Patrick.
Thousands of people gather in the town for the parade
which includes a multitude of cultures, extravagant
street performers, musicians and large colourful floats.
Also thousands of people gather in the lively Temple
Bar area to indulge in the culture that we have to
offer. Feasting on the day features traditional Irish
food, including corned beef, corned cabbage, coffee,
soda bread, potatoes, and shepherd’s pie. Many
celebrations also hold an Irish breakfast of sausage,
black and white pudding, fried eggs, and fried
tomatoes. Many people from other countries and of
different cultures visit Ireland on St. Patricks Day to
help us celebrate the day of our patron saint.
