What qualities do you think every entrepreneur should possess? An entrepreneur in 2023 must absolutely be able to endure“ coming up the rough side of the mountain.” You must be willing to die on the hill that you build. Most businesses give up before the magic happens. There is a series of successes, failures, learning moments, and unique experiences that must happen before the business takes off.
How do you take care of your mental health? I’ m faithful to“ Mental Mondays”! I try my best to shut down and focus on mental clarity each Monday. Coming out of Corporate America, I remember Mondays were the most stressful days. It’ s the day when most people wanted reports, answers, accountability, and follow-up. I always believed the day was used wrong. I vowed when I became my own boss, I would allow the day to be used for mental balance. I get my haircut, pedicure, and other selfish things done while I focus and think about how to make the week work in my favor!
How do you balance your personal life with the demands of running a business? I recently embarked on a new chapter in my life. My wife / business partner and I recently graduated our third and final child from high school. They are all in college and we are now empty nesters. While we focus heavily on the business, we have more time to enjoy each other and give it our undivided attention. I believe family is the most important aspect of why we go so hard! My kids understand it also, which is very refreshing because when they needed us growing up, we were always there.
What are you working on now? I’ m working on several things. Which includes writing a book for new and struggling entrepreneurs, expanding the company’ s services as digital technology changes, and conducting as many consultations with small businesses as possible to assist with actionable and measurable marketing strategies for their businesses.
