re you as disciplined as you would like to be ? Would you like to grow longer , fuller hair ? Maybe you want to grow your beloved edges back , to grow your hair out completely natural , or transition from relaxed , heat damaged ends . Whatever the goal , keep in mind that anything is achievable with a well-thought-out plan , persistence , and discipline . You can ’ t achieve a goal if you don ’ t stay committed to it .
Let ’ s discuss some tips to help in accomplishing your goals . First , I recommend a visualization of the desired look in the form of a vision board or a Pinterest board . Often , we end up giving up on our goals , because we lose sight of the vision . Passing by a collage of your goals will constantly refresh your memory , helping you stay focused . If you choose to use Pinterest , make sure to take a peek and scroll at least once a day during your downtime to ensure inspiration .
The next thing I would suggest is to write everything needed to achieve this goal . It would be best to seek a licensed Cosmetologist that can perform a thorough hair and scalp analysis to fully assess the necessary steps needed to achieve your desired look . If you do not already have a stylist , may I make a shameless suggestion ? At The Hair Ministry , I am the CEO / Lead Stylist and I am currently
offering free consultations to any client to look at your hair , discuss goals , and a good hair regimen . I will help map out a suitable game plan and assist in achieving your goals in the healthiest way possible . You can book the free consultation at www . thehairministry . net .
Once you have a vision of what you want and a map of how you ’ re going to get there , find an accountability partner — having someone to keep you accountable for your goals can be the biggest blessing , especially if you ’ re likely to give up on yourself easily . When someone else we care about is involved and could be disappointed in us , we are more inclined to stay committed . One of the worst feelings is disappointing a friend or someone we genuinely care about . If you are married , you can tell your husband or wife your hair goals and ask them to help you stick to your hair regimen . If you are single and have a good friend with similar goals , commit to check in on each other weekly or make wash day a friend date . If you ’ re more of a private person when it comes to your hair , ask your stylist to be your accountability partner . After all , that ’ s what we ’ re here for !
Once you have the vision , a well thought out plan , and an accountability partner , it ’ s time to do the work . Prepare as much as possible ahead of time . If there are any items , you have to purchase , add them to your
weekly shopping list as soon as possible . Don ’ t procrastinate ! Be sure to place your bonnet and scalp oils in a place where you will see them , right before bed every night , like on the nightstand . If necessary , keep a journal of your hair regimen so that you can keep track of what ’ s required each day . Set reminders in your phone for each daily habit needed to keep you persistent . Be sure to do the same for your appointments with your stylist . Missing one appointment could be detrimental to your hair journey . Also , always rebook so that your stylist can keep you in rotation without too much time passing between maintenance appointments .
The most important thing to remember when seeking to achieve a goal is to remain disciplined . Remember your WHY ! Your end goal is possible with time , patience , and persistence . n
