GLMS FOUNDATION DOCTOR ' S CUP
The Greater Louisville Medical Society Foundation held its 10 th annual Doctor ’ s Cup Golf Scramble on Oct . 12 , 2020 at Hurstbourne Country Club . This year ’ s event hosted 16 teams , competing for the trophy and title of Doctor ’ s Cup Champion .
Over the past 10 years , the GLMS Foundation has raised a total of $ 253,000 to award scholarships to 53 University of Louisville medical students , just one of many ways that the Foundation invests in the future of medicine . The scholarship recipients are based on several criteria . The University of Louisville School of Medicine selects candidates to be considered by the GLMS Foundation , which then selects the final recipients . UofL submits a list of fourth-year students by class rank and highest debt with Student Affairs . The list is then narrowed down based upon the following : » Residents of Kentucky » Students that are “ native ” to Kentucky » Students with high medical school debt » Students that have no other scholarship awards
This year , $ 25,000 in scholarships were awarded to five medical students : Anne-Taylor Beck , Mallory Foster , Molly Frank , Stephen Giles and Austin Hogan .

The first-place team was sponsored by Merrill Lynch : Barry Barlow and Associates and included Frank Barlow , Mac Barlow , Chase Dailey and Chris McIntosh . Second-place was a tie , broken by way of scorecard playoff , per the USGA recommendation . It was awarded to the team sponsored by UofL Health Eye Specialists . The Stock Yards Bank team came in third .
This year ’ s “ Worst Putter Award ” went to Josh Mooneyhan of Lang Company . This award is sponsored by Dr . Mary Barry , in remembrance of her father , journalist Mike Barry .
