anything negative about anyone. A name would come up and he would just say,“ He is a good man or woman.” In one conversation, we were talking abut some top dog men from Texas and, of course, Jim Stinson come up. Floyd pauses and said,“ Jim is a good, good man.” He then went on to say,“ He has helped me a lot, and a lot of other people and the dogs as well.” Coming from Floyd that speaks volumes and is just an example of Floyd, the man, and how grateful he was at all times, through thick and thin.
Ms. Jean had put on a huge shindig of a dog show, as she always did, but this one was the works. A crawfish dinner with all the extras.
Dick Stratton was there to put on his slide show and what a treat it was. I followed up with a seminar where I covered some basic stuff- feeding, breeding and such. As we wound it down, Ms. Jean said,“ Is there anyone who wants to ask any questions?” A few hands went up; a few talking about
taking their dogs to the dog park and such. Then a fellow in the front row threw up his hand and said,“ I got a good question I probably shouldn’ t mention at an A. D. B. A. event but here goes. What’ s up with that?” I thought about it for a minute or two and it came to me as I looked over the crowd sitting there in utter silence. I said,“ Floyd, you are on.” With no hesitation Floyd gave the man the answer, which I have never forgotten. He says,“ They just don’ t breed true.” And left it at that.
Thank you, Floyd, for honesty and the wisdom to back it up.

After speaking to“ Bull Plug Hammonds” I don’ t mean to get sentimental with y’ all, But after reading this, even he will Remember The Dog
Magic Man did it for Snatch; Jeep did it for Crenshaw, So with the utmost respect, we MUST remember the dog. Most fall short, a few stand tall. Some call Robert a burglar dog, And Bobby Hall buried him in the front yard, Just so he can remember the dog. When my best dog died, I cried a waterfall! That’ s the effect of most dog men and his bulldog. But when the sun don’ t shine and your yard has fog Your mind may think you see a ghost at times, Cause your heart Remembered the Dog …
