Koehler’ s Comino
Koehler’ s Comino was a stud dog that my father, Ralph Greenwood, purchased from David Koehler by way of Maurice Carver. He was an older dog at the time of the sale and the only criteria that my father talked to Maurice about was that he was looking for a GAME stud dog, with emphasis on the game. It was said that Maurice reassured David Koehler that Comino was the one dog that certainly met this criteria and to sell him to Mr. Greenwood with confidence. The deal was made and Comino made his way to Salt Lake City as a welcomed addition to the Greenwood Kennel.
Comino’ s pedigree speaks volumes. Ralph was delighted to discover that he was a littermate brother to Sorrells’ Bull. Bert Sorrells had been breeding Bull for a number of years with tremendous success for the Sorrells yard. Comino’ s dam, Koehler’ s Daisy, was a full sister to Indian Bolio the stud dog used by Pat Patrick to develop the Bolio dynasty.
Comino was a friendly dog with an outgoing temperament. He was an easy keeper that adapted well to his new home in the Greenwood Kennel. He was bred to a couple of females producing some very good dogs, i. e. Greenwood’ s Geraldine( Stephany’ s), Greenwood’ s Rebecca, who went to the West Coast and Greenwood’ s Ruben, owned by my brother, Andrew. My father kept a beautiful, light red
