bred to his daughter Garner ’ s Boss Lady .
The one quarter out in Guerrita ’ s pedigree is Garner ’ s China Girl I who was sired directly by Garner ’ s CH Chinaman . Garner ’ s Frisco was the result of a father to daughter mating based on CH Chinaman , the total genetic influence of CH Chinaman is 69 % and Frisco is 75 % in Guerrita ’ s seven generation pedigree . which has made the Mafia line a sought-after bloodline .
Mafia is the product of an outcross mating . An outcross mating increases variability in the gene pool and creates new genetic combinations by mating brood stock with different genetic backgrounds .
The most common reason for making an outcross mating is to bring into a bloodline desired traits that do not exist within the line and to dilute undesirable recessive genes . Many times , an outcross will produce dogs that are ‘ better ’ than each of the original lines . This is referred to as ‘ hybrid vigor ’.
On the downside , many times the uniformity and predictability of traits within the litter are compromised due to the resulting diversity in the gene pool .
Mafia ’ s sire , Moore ’ s Charlie , is the result of a half brother to half sister mating ( line breeding ). Both of his parents were sired by Moore ’ s Night Train and Charlie ’ s grand-dams were half sisters , both sired by the stud dog , Edward ’ s Lil Rascal , and out of Lil Rascal ’ s littermate sister Edward ’ s Miss Rage and Lil Rascal ’ s daughter Franklin ’ s Blondie .
Mafia ’ s dam , Garner & Ovalle ’ s Guerrita , was inbred , the result of a father to daughter mating of Garner ’ s Frisco

Edward ’ s Lil Rascal and Edward ’ s Miss Rage
Edward ’ s Lil Rascal and his littermate sister , Edward ’ s Miss Rage , is seen in very close line breeding situations in the pedigree of Pit Island Kennels as well as the pedigree of Moore ’ s Charlie mentioned above .
Lil Rascal and Miss Rage were sired by Long ’ s Werdo out of Edward ’ s Skeeter . Werdo was inbred , the result of a father to daughter mating of CH Jeep bred to his daughter Orr ’ s Dolly . Dolly was the result of a CH Jeep mating to his half sister , Ybarra ’ s Cogina , both out of CH Honeybunch , Skeeter ’ s maternal grandsire was CH Jeep so the total genetic influence of CH Jeep in Lil Rascal and Miss Rage ’ s seven generation pedigree is 50 %, CH Honeybunch 34 %, and dogs from the Mtn . Man kennel 25 %.

Ms . Holladay was a small bitch , about 35 lbs , black with white on her chest and feet . She was named Ms . Holladay as , at the time , we lived in Holladay , Utah . She was reserved and somewhat shy . She was great with people and no problem at all in the kennel .
For her first litter , she was bred to Greenwood ’ s Oakie and whelped a nice litter . She was a great mother producing abundant milk for those pups . She dropped weight and had
