MEMBER TRIP REPORT

Day 2 – 17th November . After cleaning up broken glass and fixing the tents we headed up the Dargo High Plains Road to the Blue Rag turnoff .
Along the way we had to clear quite a few fallen trees and bits of branches .
The weather was great after the storm and provided us with crisp clear atmosphere for our viewing . The track was in good condition so we had a beautiful run to the “ trig point ”. Took photos and had lunch prior to returning back to base for fivesees and dinner at the Dargo River Inn . A great day was had by all . Baby came in my vehicle as his was not roadworthy .
Trig Point – Blue Rag Range
Helipad – Billy Goat Bluff
Day 3 – Tuesday 17 th . November We got away about 8.30am after saying goodbye to Baby , ( as his car was being transported to Sale for repair ) and had a good run down the Wonnangatta River Road to the base of “ Billy Goat Bluff ”. The run up was as usual with a few craggy spots just to give us a taste of what is to come . Stopped at the Helipad for morning tea and took photos and generally enjoyed the views before heading up to the top . This was a good challenge as the track was worse than a couple of years ago with some horrible waves of shale and some good challenges over rocky sections . The new members took it in their stride ( hearts in mouth ) and with a little bit of verbal coaching like ( you will be alright – just keep going , don ’ t stop ) and we all made it in one piece to the top .
A short run from there to the “ Pinnacles ” where we had lunch and some reflection on what we have just achieved .
After a look around at the stunning views we headed back to Licola to finish the trip – which we did when we reached the bitumen .
My thanks to all on the trip , we had nice compatibility and camaraderie and ended up with plenty of good memories .
