Tell us a little bit about you and what you do for work in rl:
I believe I'm a typical Portuguese person that loves going to the beach, singing
and dancing. I enjoy travelling a lot and getting to know new countries and their
traditions.
I'm an English teacher and I love what I do, not only because I'm dealing with
children but I'm lucky that my days are never boring or the same.
How has the global pandemic affected your job?
The global pandemic really affected my job, in March the schools were closed
here in Portugal and in several other countries too. So in few days teachers had
to find a rapid away to facilitate
quality distance learning for students in confinement, with or without the use of
digital technologies.
So I had to develop new strategies to engage children, while maintaining high
standards of teaching and learning. It wasn't easy, I've found myself working
all the time. Trying to find better ways to teach online. Now that school is over,
it ended last Friday 26th June. I believe we were all heroes, because we all did
our best.
