community news Dental Health Arlington LOVE THAT SMILE 2020 Virtual Casino Night Dental Health Arlington held their first annual Love That Smile virtual event on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at American Airlines CR Smith Museum, which graciously allowed us to use their venue. We were able to have 26 people in attendance, including our stellar committee, deserving award winners, the amazing crew from SEAM productions, and our outstanding photographer. Our emcee for the evening, Kara Sewell, morning news anchor for WFAA Daybreak, did a phenomenal job as emcee and provided an infectious excitement that spotlighted both our auction baskets and super silent auction items. Her enthusiasm and charm also spilled over into the announcement of our raffle drawings. Kara may be a new friend to DHA, but we think and hope it is a friendship that will only get better with time! The live portion of the program included three well-deserved awards: The Sally Hopper Golden Crown Award - Dan Blumberg SMILES Volunteer of the Year - Isabel Canales Excellence in Dental Hygiene Prophy Trophy - Shannon Upton, RDH Musical entertainment was provided by the extraordinary duet NGNG who continue to be dedicated supporters of Dental Health Arlington. We would like to extend a huge shout out to our top sponsors: Dental Directions and Andy and Amy Schoening! We were able to net $41,000 from our virtual fundraiser which is not only incredible but our best event in the history of DHA – Thanks to everyone involved! Some posts on Facebook Live: “Kara Sewell was so entertaining – I wish I was there.” “I really enjoyed the show.” “If a virtual event is this much fun I can't wait for next year’s in person.” View the program in its entirety at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v UMYknpwfGI&feature=youtu.be We are proud to have logged 700+ views!
