Dr. Adam Preece
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Preece is a primary care provider and
a valued ally for families. He enjoys making sure kids have a
positive dental experience and develop a foundation for a lifetime
of oral health. His practice is family-friendly, and he
quickly builds rapport with his young patients and their parents
by going above and beyond the ordinary to earn their trust.
“In my practice, parents are welcome to accompany their children
into the treatment area, because their presence helps anxious
children feel relaxed and confident. Education is more
effective when doctors, parents, and patients are on the same
team and sharing information with the parent present empowers
them to reinforce good hygiene habits at home.”
Dr. Preece provides comprehensive preventative and restorative
dental care for children of all ages, from thorough exams and
cleanings to protective sealants, white fillings, and stainlesssteel
pediatric crowns. He offers all levels of sedation, including
nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV anesthesia when needed
and is on staff at Children’s Hospital in Dallas and Plano. When
a child has a toothache, a broken tooth, or a soft tissue injury,
Dr. Preece is available to provide emergency dental care.
Pediatric dentist Dr. Dan Burch is a clinical assistant professor
at Texas A&M College of Dentistry and Children's Medical Center
Dallas where he specializes in the clinical treatment of
patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Dr. Preece and Dr. Burch are committed to providing care for
all children, including those with special needs such as physical,
developmental, behavioral or emotional conditions, Down syndrome,
cerebral palsy, autism, neurological disorders, and
vision and/or hearing impairments. “Our state-of-the-art office
is physically accessible for all of our patients and we’re equipped
to offer sedation for children who are not able to be cooperative
during their dental procedures.”
“Education is more effective
when doctors, parents, and
patients are on the same team.”
The collaborative model at The Dental Specialists is a great advantage
for young patients who visit the facility. “If a patient
comes for an orthodontic adjustment and complains of tooth
pain, I can step in and take a look to be sure there is no pathology
that needs to be addressed. Our families appreciate the convenience
because they don’t need to schedule an appointment
at another office a few weeks out, or travel to a different location
to get the answers they need, and their child is comfortable
because they’re in the same office.”
During the COVID crisis, Dr. Preece and Dr. Burch are following
all the established safety guidelines and taking precautions like
lighter scheduling to allow extra time to clean between patients.
