Conference Safety and Security

AWWA works closely with the hotel to provide a safe environment during the Utility Management Conference , but your help is also needed . AWWA recommends that you read the following safety guidelines :
1 . Be aware of your surroundings . Always keep an eye on your personal belongings and never leave un-attended . If someone near you is acting suspiciously or if you feel uncomfortable , leave the area immediately and notify AWWA or hotel staff .
2 . Know how to handle an emergency . Be aware of the nearest exits and know the emergency route at your hotel . Most are posted on the back of your guest room door , review upon arrival and become familiar on where to go . Agree on a place to meet up with a colleague in the event of an evacuation .
In case of an emergency , the Hilton Atlanta has emergency procedures in place for everyone ’ s safety .
• The Hilton internal emergency number is 66 from any house phone .
• The Hilton has an emergency team available 24 hours a day , seven days a week .
• All the officers at the Hilton are trained in First Aid and CPR .
• The hotel generally has someone from Atlanta PD on-site .
• In case of evacuation , everyone will be relocated to the Marriot Marquis ( just across the street from the Hilton hotel main entrance ).
