As a frequent visitor who has a number of friends within the D/s program I have seen how thorough the application process is to be accepted. I queried the reasons for this and he replied
We have a long application process as this training is not for everyone, or some people are just not ready for it yet. The training is about being true to yourself as a dominant or submissive. This is not an easy concept to understand. It is even harder to explain. As I struggled with how to deal with this issue, I realized that what our training does is to allow people to begin to see who they really are. Until we can pull back the wool that life has used to cover our eyes, stopping us from seeing ourselves clearly and if we do not know who we truly are, how can we possibly be true to ourselves?"
He continued by explaining how we build a shell of images and beliefs to protect ourselves from criticism by others from an early age and how this shell comes to feel to us as our real identity.
He explained "In the training here, the girls are stretched and are encouraged even pushed to deal with those issues they have always been afraid of nearly their entire lives. I realize our training is all about finding yourself so you can then be true to yourself.
As I said, some people are ready for this and others are not so we give them time to discover if this group is a good fit for them or not.
Our commitment is to contribute to everyone who visits the sim, but we recognize each person makes their own choices and we try hard to allow an informed and powerful choice to be made."
Before I took up too much of his time I wanted to explore the way that the community does far more than just educate in D/s, even if that is the main purpose. Firstly he underlined the guiding principles of the community.
"First, there is a commitment to caring and basic respect for all members and for each other.
