Family role play has also become very popular in Second Life. It seems many residents are seeking to belong to a group and share in fun and activities. The foundation for family role play begins with a bond between couples who wish to expand their families with the addition of babies and extended families members.

So what is Second Life?
As stated above, it depends from the perspective you look at it.
Whatever that may be, it is clear that the Grid is just “an internet visual reality” where YOU and absolute YOU, as an individual human sitting behind your chosen avatar, using the technology and options provided, makes the difference. You are the one who gives this virtual environment a mouthful of air, a reason to carry on, you are the one who decides to preserve it, to advance it, or not. We can easily consider Second Life being a replicated First Life, giving though more freedom on choices with fewer rules than our Real Life imposes us to follow. That of course has the plus and minus compared to our actual reality judging from behaviors that users show. It remains a community of people in a specific environment. But, it is a wonderful place to meet people from all over the world, people of similar/different cultures, of similar/different habits, choose and spend your time with the ones you like, build, create, buy and sell your products and ideas, love and be loved, create your own unique environment, just like in Real Life.
