Because the interaction in Second Life appears to closely parallel real-life (or would that be First Life?) human interaction, it is an ideal MMORG for psychological scientists. Researchers are discovering ways to use Second Life to study human interaction on an entirely new level says Jillian Sherwin at Observer back in 2007 (still the same in 2015). What Second Life preserves is correct. Choices are endless and depend strictly upon each individual Sler’s needs and desires to further explore and advance any skill, talent and imagination that are there.

Second Life users are recognized to be excellent for online education. They provide the human interaction that is natural in classrooms and in the traditional learning environment. Avatars provide a face to the students and a face to the teacher. They provide the individual element to online teaching. Message boards, email, and instant messaging are great tools for writing. Communication in voice makes it even easier. Posting a question on a message board is useful but many times asking the question is better. It is instant, direct, and uses the nuance of voice. Skype works well but avatars are better.
