What is the point writing about Second Life since we all live and breathe inside it, experience and enjoy it, each and every one of us with our own individual preferred way.
You are probably right.
What is the additional information I can convey to you that you already don’t know it? Each and every one of us has its own unique way to be part of this world, acting and performing to our best liking. Each and every one of us has already formed a specific opinion about Second Life and the unlimited choices offered.
But now is my turn to ask you this: judging from your own in-world experience and preferences that you have and/or gained inside this virtual reality, how much you really do know about Second Life?
Living inside a virtual dream or just having fun in a virtual reality?
I wonder what could be a definition of Second Life:
Evolution, Revolution, a Dating Site, just an Addictive Game, or?
We all started Second Life adopting a nerdy looking pre-made avatar (Newbie as it is habitually called), fascinated and captivated by this three-dimensional version of virtual reality, eager to discover what this world has to offer. We all realized, from our first steps into this digital space that Second Life offers limitless choices as to how you want your character to look like. So here comes the first dilemma. Do I really want to improve “myself”, how do I wish to look like and how much this will actually cost me. First thoughts on how much to spend in favor of a virtual avatar start messing up our minds. However the visual element and the improvement of it, is important in Second Life, at least to the majority of people. We can buy outfits to dress our avatars provocatively, or "skins" to make us appear sexy nude. Endless choices of shopping opportunities are there, from skins, shapes, eyes, hair, feet, genitals to clothes and outfits. Long spending hours of continuous search to create an avatar the way we like it. Damn do I look good?
