VOL Parish Weekly Bulletin September 3, 2017 | Page 4

September 3, 2017 Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time “Confession” (Sacrament of Penance) All churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will have Confession available on Wednesday, September 13, beginning at 5 p.m. The evening confession times are meant to encourage Catholics to make time for the Sacrament, and Archbishop Gregory Aymond is encouraging families to go together to receive God’s love, forgiveness and grace. 4 Pray for our Military VOL will place in the last bulletin of the month the names of our active duty soldiers so that we can pray for them. By name! Daily! Please contact our Parish Secretary, Kelli Bourgeois at 347-2203 or email [email protected], with the names of your active duty loved ones. Let us show our love for them with our prayers. MONTH 7 – Developing Baby Spiritual Adoption Program You are in the home stretch with your spiritually adopted baby. He/she is completely formed, and has been since 8 weeks. All he/ she is doing now is gaining weight — and making his/her mother uncomfortable with his/her size. But mom is not worried. In a short time, her baby will be born. Your baby’s mother appreciated the prayers you have said for her and her baby throughout the pregnancy. It has not been easy, but your prayers have given her the grace she needed to brin her baby to term. VOL COOKBOOK VOLUME II COMING SOON! It’s been TWENTY YEARS since VOL published its first Cajun Cookbook, and it is still being used in many homes today. Recipes from former teachers, parents and parishioners have become valuable to many cooks, especially around the holidays. Please Pray Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion. Prayer of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen If you don’t have a copy, don’t worry! You will soon be able to purchase Volume I AND our brand-new VOL Cajun Cookbook Volume II, just in time for the holidays! During the nine month Spiritual Adoption campaign, the development of the pre-born child will be displayed in the vestibule of the church. Please remember to pray daily for your Spiritual Adopted Baby and the baby’s mother and father.  Spread the true meaning of Christmas with a beautiful Keep Christ in Christmas Garden Flag!
