Did You Know?
Anonymous writes, “I promised myself I
wouldn’t write again but I just have to.
We’re once again running a deficit in our
collections. You are in charge. What are
you going to do about it?”
“Trust in the parishioners and especially in
God. And, just like previous years, if we still have a
deficit near the end of the fiscal year, I’ll beg and I’ll
make some expense cuts.”
Lillian writes, “I was at West Jeff between July 27 and
August 10. Eucharistic Ministers from Visitation Church
visited me and gave me Communion. Just a note of
thanks for Our Lord has touched me and healed me. May
Our Lord bless these ministers with his choicest gifts.”
“On behalf of our many faith-filled
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, you are very
welcome. We all hope God continues to shower you with
his healing graces.”

You probably know Mother Teresa was
canonized last weekend. She is now St.
Teresa of Calcutta. But, do you know
this diminutive saint founded the
Missionaries of Charity, which now has
5,150 contemplative sisters serving in 758
houses in 139 countries. The Missionaries also have 420
brothers serving in 69 houses in 21 countries.

May the perpetual light shine upon her
It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of longtime school secretary
Patsy Byars. She served Visitation with
total dedication for 38 years. Each day, all
who entered our school office were
warmly greeted by Patsy and her
infectious personality and laugh. Sadly,
Patsy finally succumbed to a year-long
battle with cancer but fought valiantly and with great
dignity. Even facing difficult odds Patsy always had
humor, will, determination and a great spirit.
Patsy is survived by her two children Chad and Keri, as
well as four grandchildren. Please keep Patsy and her
family in your prayers during this most difficult time.
Patsy will be missed by the VOL faculty, staff, and
students more than can ever be expressed.
Altar Flowers
The flowers that beautify the altar this weekend were
donated in memory of:
Patricia “Patsy” Byars
Please call the Pastoral Center at
347-2203 if you would like to donate
flowers to honor a loved one, in
thanksgiving, or other remembrance.
