October 8, 2017 Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Views From The Pews 2 Did You Know? Anonymous 2 writes, “I am not the anonymous who normally complains about our collections. He comes across as just mean, but I am also worried about our collections. What’s going on?” “Our September collections were down 20% from last year. Parishioners gave generously to our collection for Houston Relief and 50% of that type of second collection generally comes from our first collection, but even that doesn’t explain the size of our first collection decline. In addition, collections for the first week of October are down 11% from the same week last year. Why? I don't know. But, as I say over and over, I’m a man of faith. God will take care of us.” Father Mike Substance Abuse Ministry Meeting The next SAM meeting will be held Tuesday, October 10th in the Church Meeting Room beginning at 7 p.m. The Substance Abuse Ministry (SAM) offers a safe, confidential place for people touched by addiction to share their personal experiences with others.
