Anonymous #1 writes, “I got to church
early for 7 o’clock mass and the parking lot
was pitch dark. I am an elderly woman and
I need lots of light to see where I am going.
Please put the lights on sooner.”
“Done. The timer has been set for 30 minutes
before sunset.”
Anonymous #2 writes, “I have written many times but you
never listen. Please, pretty please make the Saturday
Mass start at 4 o’clock. Five o’clock is too late. It’s dark
when I get out of church.”
“Each time you write I say the same thing. I
have put the matter to a vote twice. Each time, only a
very small number of people voted to make the Mass time
earlier. So, I listen to the majority.
In addition, I know there are nearby Catholic
churches with earlier times for the Vigil Mass, and I try
to provide an alternate time so that people have a
choice.”

Book of the Dead
During
the
month
of
November we will remember our
deceased in a special way. A
Book of the Dead will be
accessible in the vestibule for parishioners to write the
names of beloved deceased relatives for whom they would
like us to pray. The book will be brought up at the
offertory procession and placed on a small table in front of
the altar for the duration of Mass. After Mass, it will be
returned to the podium in the vestibule for continued use.
The Journey:
I can, I must, I will !!!!!!!
About six weeks ago I started walking as a way of
exercising and relieving stress. I now walk about 4-6
times per week depending upon my schedule. I tell you
this not for accolades but as an inspiration for anyone
who is looking to start. In fact, I also started a blog
two weeks ago (Health & Holiness: A Journey
Towards Physical and Spiritual Fitness). The purpose
of the blog is one to keep me accountable, and two, to
provide inspiration for others. So if you’re looking for
a reason to start check out padredg.com.
