All Saints Day
Views From The Pews
A parishioner, who I choose not to
identify, yelled at me after one of our
weekend Masses. Loudly! He yelled, “I
want to scream every time I hear you
cheer for the Saints. It’s improper to do it before Mass
ends. Stop it!”
“I’m not going to stop cheering for the Saints;
but, for a sense of propriety, I will wait until after a
deacon or I say, ‘The Mass is ended.’ and you respond,
‘Thanks be to God.’ I don’t understand the emotion,
but I am happy to accommodate, at least in part.”
A large number of you say you enjoyed our mission
delivered by Jon Leonetti. Anna says, “He was terrific.
They are all good, but I especially enjoyed this year’s
mission. The message was terrific!”
“On behalf of Jon, thank you. I believe we
have had wonderful missions for many years now. If
you have never tried one, please come next year. You,
like the hundreds who have come over the years, will get
a lot out of it.”

Adult Faith Formation
Beginning on December 8th, the Holy Father, Pope
Francis, has called for the Church to observe a Jubilee
Year of Mercy. Do you know what that means? Are you
interested in learning more about it? Well, our Adult
Faith Formation Sessions will address this topic. Deacon
Paul will lead us through a review of the Holy Father’s
letter calling for the Year of Mercy. The session started
on October 28 and will run until November 18, 2015. All
sessions will be held on Wednesdays at 7pm in the
Church Meeting Room.

Book of the Dead
For the month of November we
will remember our deceased in a
special way. A Book of the Dead
will be accessible in the vestibule
for parishioners to write the names of beloved deceased
relatives for whom they would like us to pray. The book
will be brought up at the offertory procession and placed on
a small table in front of the altar for the duration of Mass.
After Mass, it will be returned to the podium in the vestibule
for continued use.

Daylight Savings Time
Time reverts back to standard time at 2 a.m. on the
first Sunday in November (November 1st).
Many fire departments encourage people to change
the batteries in their smoke detectors when they change their
clocks back because Daylight Saving Time provides a
convenient reminder.
