May 31, 2015 The Most Holy Trinity Views From The Pews Earline writes, “Tell Father Daniel he did a terrific job in his homily at the kindergarten graduation. I was there and enjoyed every moment of it. He knows how to connect with the kids. Don’t get me wrong. You do too, but Father Daniel was special that time.” “Father Daniel has a gift from God with children and he uses it well.” Al writes, “Thanks for the phone call about Deacon Jim and his wife making roast beef po-boys at the Café Hope Food Fest. I had an 8 inch job with all the fixins. It was delicious.” “You are very welcome. I had two of them, and I agree. They were both delicious. By the way, Deacon Jim (Rooney) and his wife, Joan, got ‘Best of Show’ among the amateur chefs.” Several of you have kind comments about our former intern, Zachary Oburu, choosing to serve his first Masses as a Deacon at Visitation of Our Lady. Here is one of them. Paula says, “He is such a faith-filled young man. He is like Deacon Raphael that we had a few years ago. He is just so kind. You see Jesus when you see him.” “I agree on all counts. I was enormously pleased he chose us as his home parish for serving his first Mass as a Deacon. And, I agree that he exudes the gentleness and love of Christ.” Anonymous writes, “Tell Deacon Zachary he went way too long with his first homily. I kept saying that he will stop here but he never did. I bet he spoke for a half hour and that is just ridiculous.” “I talked with Deacon Zachary right after Mass. I asked him how long he believed his homily had lasted. He said he believed it was about 12 minutes. He said that’s how long it was when he rehearsed it. He was flabbergasted when I told him it lasted 28 minutes. He promised to learn from the experience. He’s a very good young man. He will learn to keep his homilies closer to ten minutes than to thirty.” Father Mike Volunteers Needed Wynhoven Health Care Center Memory Care Unit For more information, please call Celeste Valence, LPN, Program Manager @ 347-0777.
