Did You Know?
Several of you say nice things about my
Stewardship Homily. Here’s one of them.
Penny says, “I don’t pray much. I just
don’t think about it. I will try harder.
You inspired me. Thank you for being our pastor.”
“What a lovely thing to say. I genuinely appreciate
it.”
Jack writes, “No body likes a know it all. I come to
church to be with my God not a smart mouthed priest.
Stick with saying Mass. We will all be better off. It is
none of your business how much I pray or give or
anything else.”
“ I disagree. A priest is required to preach as well as
celebrate Mass. I’m sorry if you don’t like what I have
to say, but an important part of a priest’s vocation is to
pass on what God requires of us. I preach God’s
message, not my personal beliefs. Sometimes (actually,
pretty often) the message is challenging. Jesus says
many things we would prefer not to hear. I do my best to
present Our Savior’s challenges with kindness and love,
but Jesus’s message nonetheless remains a challenge.”

Office Closed
The Pastoral Center will close on Monday,
May 29th, in observance of Memorial Day.
The office will reopen on Tuesday,
May, 30th at 8 a.m.
The Men’s Club raised a rather astounding $7,000
with its Spaghetti Supper for Jourdan Loyola, the 6-year-
old VOL student who is battling Acute Flaccid Myelitis.
Congrats to the Men’s Club. Mucho prayers for Jourdan.

LET ME NEVER FORGET YOU.
Sealing up Time Capsule
Please join us Saturday, June 24th immediately
following the 5 p.m. Mass.
All ministry leaders are asked to write a
brief summary of the History of your
organization.
If you or your family have any historical
items pertaining to Visitation of Our Lady
Church/School that you would
like to donate to the time capsule, please
send it in to the Pastoral Center. Please label
your items in case we can not use them and
need to return them to you. Space is limited,
so please do not send in any big items.
Join us in praying for fallen
soldiers who have died for our
freedom and for the unborn who
are not free to live.
Families may bring long-stemmed
flowers to place at the Shrine in
memory of an infant or child,
or a fallen soldier.
