June 18, 2017 The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Views From The Pews Al writes about “Jack” criticizing me for, in his opinion, being a “smart mouth priest” in my Stewardship Homily. Here is Al’s opinion: “Hi, Father Mike. I was so shocked when I read in the parish bulletin where someone referred to you as a smart mouth priest. But on the other hand, I’m old enough to know bullies always target easy prey where they don’t have to face any consequences for their unacceptable behavior. This man (Jack) has to spend more time getting his head cleared and realizing Priests are only doing God’s work and every Priest has his own way of spreading God’s message.” “Thanks for the support.” Fr. Mike 2 Did You Know? The number of American men who were ordained this year as priests is slightly up from last year and slightly down from 2015. 2015 2016 2017 596 priests 548 priests 590 priests Overall, good numbers!
