MONTH 6 – Developing Baby
Spiritual Adoption Program
Your spiritually adopted baby is
developing quite beautifully now.
His/her weight is approaching 2 pounds. Babies born
prematurely at this time have a very good chance of
surviving. The medical advances in caring for extremely
small newborn infants are extraordinary indeed. Each
passing year, we witness medical advances that allow
medical professionals to save younger and younger
premature infants.
Please Pray
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you
to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually
adopted who is in danger of abortion.

Every year I make a pilgrimage to Newark, New Jersey. That may sound like a strange place to make a
pilgrimage, but in that place I found a beautiful devotion at the Feast to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, still
celebrated today. During the big immigrations to the United States of Italians during the late 1800’s through
1950, they would sail from the Bay of Naples. Not far from the Bay lies the Church of Carmine Maggiore, the
Church dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Italians, before boarding to set sail for the United States,
would pray in this church and ask for the intercession of the Blessed Mother for their trip and their new lives.
When they arrived in the States, in an act of thanksgiving they would form their new parishes and name a great number of
them after Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For this reason we sometimes have in New Jersey and New York numerous parishes
that bear this title within miles of one another. I have always enjoyed this feast day, with its processions through the streets of
the neighborhood, marching band leading, church bells ringing and the faithful braving the summer heat to honor the Most
Blessed Mother of God under Her title Our Lady of Mount Carmel. On this pilgrimage be assured of my prayers and hope for
all blessings for the entire Parish of Visitation of Our Lady!
