Alex writes, “When will we know
whether we will be moving our 5 o’clock
Mass to 4 o’clock. I hope we do not. I
don’t like the idea.”
“Of the approximately 250 people who regularly attend
our 5 o’clock Vigil Mass on Saturdays, only 5 requested
a vote. So, the Vigil Mass will remain at 5 o’clock.”

Substance Abuse Ministry Meeting
The next SAM meeting will be held
Tuesday, January 9th, upstairs in the
Pastoral Center beginning at 7 p.m.
The Substance Abuse Ministry (SAM)
offers a safe, confidential place for people touched by
addiction to share their personal experiences with others.
SAM provides general educational information about
addiction through professionals in this field and is open to
people of all faiths. The ministry is open to both those
afflicted with or affected by substance addiction. For more
info contact Deacon Jerry Labadot at 495-5820.
Safe Environment Training at VOL
Visitation of Our Lady Parish offers Safe Environment
Training on the 2nd Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. in
the Church. The next class will be held on Saturday,
January 13, 2018. There is no fee to attend.

The Catholic Church takes no formal stand on the
Affordable Care Act, but it does say we have an
obligation, if we have the means, to help those with
medical problems who cannot afford to take care of
themselves.

Confirmation Session II
In the Archdiocese of New Orleans,
students receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation during their Junior year of
high school. Students must attend a Catholic high school or
a parish CCD program during their high school years and
attend a sacramental preparation program in their home
parish. As part of the sacramental preparation program,
students need to complete Confirmation classes. The
Session II Confirmation classes will take place on Saturday,
Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, 2018. The deadline to register is January
10, 2018.
