February 21, 2016 Second Sunday of Lent Views From The Pews Beverly asked, “How do we spend our money?” “I invited Beverly to my office and gave her a brief overview of how we spend your money. Then, I gave her a copy of our budget. Remember, the money is yours. You have a right to know how it is spent.” Tony asks, “What did you say about the crucifix at your earlier Mass on Sunday? I went to the seven o’clock Mass Sunday evening and you said nothing about the crucifix. A friend who went to the earlier Mass said that what you said about the crucifix was important to him.” “Sorry, I overlooked the crucifix in my later homily. It’s one of the risks of giving a homily without notes. My homily centered on the reality that we serve Satan every time we yield to a temptation. I suggested we keep a small crucifix in our pocket or purse; and every time we face a temptation, pull out the crucifix. Look at it. Then, ask ourselves, whom shall I serve; Jesus Christ or Satan?” Father Mike Visit[tion of Our L[^y P[rish C_l_\r[t_s 2 Did You Know?
