Did You Know?
After the 8am Mass last weekend,
Deacon Jim Rooney said, “Father, the
last two stories in your homily made the
same point. You could free-up some
time for our Ministry of the Month speaker by dropping
one of them at your next Mass. By the way, the second
story is better. I suggest you drop the first.”
“I thought about it. He was right. So, my 7pm
homily ran only 7:30. I dropped the first story.
If any of you have suggestions on how I can
improve my homilies, let me know. I don’t guarantee I’ll
always agree; but I do guarantee I’ll always take your
suggestions seriously.”

NOT a Holy Day of Obligation

and IS NOT a Holy Day of Obligation
this year. Masses will be celebrated at
the regular weekday Mass times.
Beginning August 25th,
Adoration will end at Midnight.
The Blessed Sacrament will be
exposed at the end of the 7a.m. Mass
on the Fourth Thursday of the month
and benediction and reposition will take place at
Midnight on that same day.
Although national polls say 40% of Americans claim
they attend church regularly, the number of Americans
inside church on any given Sunday is less than 20%.
Forty percent of Americans go to church regularly, but
only about half of that 40% go to church weekly.
