August 7, 2016 Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Views From The Pews 2 Did You Know? After the 8am Mass last weekend, Deacon Jim Rooney said, “Father, the last two stories in your homily made the same point. You could free-up some time for our Ministry of the Month speaker by dropping one of them at your next Mass. By the way, the second story is better. I suggest you drop the first.” “I thought about it. He was right. So, my 7pm homily ran only 7:30. I dropped the first story. If any of you have suggestions on how I can improve my homilies, let me know. I don’t guarantee I’ll always agree; but I do guarantee I’ll always take your suggestions seriously.” Fr.
