Adult Faith Formation
Adult Faith Formation is designed to help parishioners
deepen their understanding of traditional Catholic practices,
so that they can more easily share their faith with others.
Classes take place on Wednesdays at 7pm in the church
meeting room.
Do you have questions about Sacred Scripture? Ever
wondered how it came together? Ever wondered if the
lessons in the Bible are true?
Well, we have just the thing for you. The next Adult
Faith Formation session will begin on August 26th and will
be presented on the Bible: A Catholic Perspective to
Understanding Sacred Scripture. There will be six sessions
running from August 26 through September 30. For any

KC’s selling Raffle tickets
The Knights of Columbus will be
selling tickets for the Seminary
Mission Fund Old Acompano Raffle
after all Masses September 5th & 6th.
Tickets are $5 each. Grand Prize ~
$5,000!!! Raffle will be drawn on December 6, 2015,
Knights of Columbus Winter State Family. Proceeds benefit
Missionary trips for Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans
and St. Joseph Seminary in Covington. Winner need not be
present.

New members always welcome!!
Teens in grades 8 – 12 are invited to attend CYO
meetings the 4th Saturday of every month in the youth
room. The next meeting is August 29th. Meetings start
at 6:30pm and end at 8pm.
Youth in grades 5 – 7 are invited to attend meetings
the second Saturday of each month in the youth room.
Meetings start at 6:30pm and end at 8pm.

ALTARATION: The Mystery of the Mass Revealed
The VOL Youth Ministry invites parents and
youth to an Altaration series in the Pastoral Center
beginning on Sunday, August 23rd @ 5:15
concluding with the 7pm Mass. Altaration is an aid
in unlocking the mysteries of the Mass. These
presentations will continue ever Sunday for 5
weeks until September 20th. Please call Fr. Daniel
for more information.

Altar Society Membership Drive
The VOL Altar Society is holding its
annual membership drive this month. If
you would like to renew you r
membership, or become a new member,
please use the special envelopes placed in
your pew.
The next Altar Society
Meeting will be Thursday, September 10th @ 9:30 in the
Chapel. New members are welcome. Annual dues may be
paid at the meeting.
