August 23, 2015 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time Views From The Pews 2 Did You Know? Lynne writes, “Father Daniel, Both Fr. Mike and you give wonderful homilies. We are truly blessed as a parish to have both of you here. Your homily at the 10am Mass on Sunday, Aug 9, was magnificent.” “On behalf of Fr. Daniel, thanks for the compliment. On my behalf, I agree. Fr. Daniel is a gift to our parish.” Al writes, “Would like to ask if VOL taken any necessary precaution for Masses, student classes and any other event that occurs on VOL property due to unstable people taking their anger out on innocent religious people?” “We have had strict security measures in place at school for the past few years, including locked gates during school hours and ID badges needed for entry. Church, though, is a different story. We are exploring installation of security cameras, but I believe it would be inappropriate to have at church the same or similar measures that we have at school. Anyone have a suggestion or two to offer?” VOL deacon candidate, Ted Cain, writes, “I have now been on the diaconate journey for two years and your support through the outpouring of love and prayers has definitely been a source of comfort and strength. I sincerely thank each and everyone of you. In return I am keeping each and everyone in my prayers.” “You will remain in our prayers as you continue to discern whether God is calling you to be a permanent deacon. I hope God IS calling you to the diaconate; but, wherever God calls you, your wife, Barbie, and you will remain special to us. You are good people.” Father Mike Eucharistic Adoration Christ suffer ed and died for YOU. His love for you is unfathomable. It’s time to take time for Him.
