Carp contest at Pelican Lake Information:
Contest begins May 1st and runs through August 2nd. The UDWR has tagged thirty carp with red floy tags on the left dorsal spine. Each tag is individually numbered and each tag will be awarded a prize from the local Vernal Sportsman's Warehouse (SW).
On August 2nd, the Vernal SW will hold a banquet with food and will award all the prizes. Each person who finds a tagged carp needs to take a photo with it and print it off for the SW bragging board and also send one to Natalie Boren in the Northeast UDWR office ([email protected]).
Anglers or bowfishers can use any legal method for taking a carp according to the 2015 procla-mation. We are asking that you only bring in the tags with a picture and not the carp. On that note people, are encouraged to kill the carp and sink it back to the bottom of the lake. We don't want to see dead carp on the boat ramp!
