And That’s Why I’ll Never Take The Bus Again!
By Annika Salmi
I stepped inside the bus stop and took a deep breath. And then I winced. Inside was an old woman who looked ready to die smoking the most terrible cigarette I had ever had my misfortune to smell. And that wasn’t all. She was also ugliest person on earth. She was wearing a dress that was clearly meant to be stylish but, because of her old age, made her look like a freak.
Outside, I leaned against the bus stop, sighing. I had so wanted to protect myself from the heat inside. However, I could deal with the hot afternoon sun. Smelling that cigar while waiting for the number 17 could be much worse. I took a relieved breath when the bus arrived and clambered inside. To my delight, the old woman wasn’t boarding the bus. I glanced at the driver and nearly screamed in horror. What???!!!
It was the same old woman I had seen before, but this time wearing a ludicrously tight skirt and a ridiculously frilly shirt. The whole look made her look like the World’s Ugliest, not to mention the World’s Smelliest. For she was still smoking that giant, noxious cigar and this time, if it was possible, the smoke smelled even worse.
