Raindrops Like My Tears

by Julia Szucs

Raindrops like my tears

Sitting down all day

As you start to walk away

Trying to get up…

Just waiting for the tide to come

Our friendship is slipping through my fingers.

I knew that this day would come

As my fingers are wiping away my tears

My tears could fill the ocean

But I cannot back down.

Just waiting for the tide to come

Our friendship is slipping through my fingers.

Let’s hold hands and start to pray

I wish it would be night not day

My pillow is drying my tears

Wishing someone can comfort me

I wish you were here

Our friendship is not near

Because you are not here.

Just waiting for the tide to come

Our friendship is slipping through my fingers.
