Apostrophe Poem to The Wiltern

What is an apostrophe?

An apostrophe is the literary term for when the speaker directly addresses someone or something that is not present in the story or poem. The speaker could be addressing the apostrophe to an inanimate object, a person (dead or alive), a place, or a concept such as hope.
