Just as it took a long time from us to evolve from nudity to clothing made of plant fibers and smelly hides to our trends today, our planet took 4.6 billion years for it to evolve to what it is today. In order to examine the Earth’s timeline at a closer look, scientists use what is known as the geologic time scale to date certain events throughout Earth’s history and to determine the relationships between these events. The geologic time scale is broken down into a hierarchy of time measurements: eons, eras, periods, epochs, and ages. Find out detailed information about these chunks of time and their correlations to fashion below!
