The tech giant says its new ‘ headphone accommodations ’ mode ‘ amplifies soft sounds and tunes audio to help music , movies , phone calls , and podcasts sound crisper and clearer ’. Bose , known for its stylish and high-quality audio products , entered the hearing loss market in May . Its SoundControl hearing aids boast a ‘ comfortable , discreet fit ’ and are designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss , coming equipped with an app to adjust volume level , tone , treble and bass .
Currently only available in the US , they have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration , which means they can be used without prescription or a visit to a specialist audiologist . Meanwhile in the UK , the National Health Service has partnered with Australian company Nuheara to provide stylish and modern hearing solutions to adults and children with mild to moderate hearing loss . The technology is not just an aid for hearing however , as Nuheara ’ s IQBuds also stream music and have a microphone so people can take calls from their mobile phone . Hearing loss is something which affects people of all ages and technological advances now mean that there are more solutions than ever to help people hear better .
