THE VAPING MONOLOGUES

In celebration of International Women ’ s Day , we speak to women involved in the vape industry .
Words : Caroline Barry

Women make up a huge percentage of the vaping community . In the US in 2018 , it was estimated that 60 percent of women have tried vaping compared to 45 percent of men .

The industry has come a long way since it began , but is it really any better for females in the boardroom ? We speak to women in different areas of the industry to hear their journeys and how their experiences differ from their male counterparts .
The Director : Emma Logan , Managing Director from JAC Vapour .
After working in marketing for 15 years , Emma was on the hunt for something more exciting , that ’ s when she discovered the vaping industry , where she ’ s spent the last nine years .
She was looking for the massive potential of a brandnew sector and JAC Vapour offered that , so she took a risk and joined the company . “ There are challenges to being female in the industry in that there is a high male bias at senior levels , but I have never had a problem making myself heard ,” she said .
“ The female voice is important in product development and my perspective can be different to the men .” Emma highlighted that there is a wealth of opportunities for women in the vaping industry , with designers , web developers , chemists and more , all being able to find a place within the fast-moving sector .
