If there ’ s one thing I ’ ve found when trying and reviewing vapes , it is that sometimes simplicity is key . When you unbox the Joyetech EVIO C kit you ’ ll find the device itself , one pod , two coils and a USB Type C cable . And you ’ ll think to yourself , hmm simple ! Let me tell you , in the case of the EVIO C kit , simple is absolutely best , everything with this vape just works . The design of the EVIO C is fairly minimalistic , but it looks sleek and it ’ s very nice to hold , very smooth with rounded edges . There ’ s one button on the front of the device and that ’ s it ! Five clicks turn the device on and another five turn it off again . Easy . The push fit pods seem to hold very securely in the vape , no wobble at all , and the coils push into the bottom of the pod . Standard stuff for pod systems but very straight forward and it works . The coils are 0.8Ohm and it ’ s impressive that Joyetech has managed to get a mesh coil into such a small , narrow enclosure . One thing to note about the EVIO C is that there is no airflow control on the device , instead the pods have two airflow options , and depending on which way round you sit the pod into the battery you will get a different draw . The more closed of the two holes gives a very satisfying MTL draw , absolutely perfect ; however if you want a little more air , just flip the pod around and the other airflow is a slightly less restrictive MTL draw . More airflow options would have been nice , but it certainly goes with the theme of simple that runs all the way through this device . To fill the pods , you simply pull the pod out and find the bung on the side , the fill hole is amply sized and you shouldn ’ t have any issues filling the pod with most juice bottles on the market . My only grumble here is the dark colour of the pod can sometimes make it difficult to see how much juice is in there and I managed to overfill it a couple of times . I ’ d recommend holding the pod up to the light frequently to check how full it is when filling . Operation of the Joyetech EVIO C couldn ’ t be easier . There are no screens or other buttons here , just press and puff . The button has a small coloured LED behind it that will alert you to the remaining level of the battery . You don ’ t even have to use the button to vape in this case , due to the auto-draw function - the choice is yours . I personally prefer to use the fire button but both options work perfectly . The battery is a modest 800mAh but I had no issues getting a whole day out of it and it charges up super quick thanks to the 2 Amp charging . I really wish more vapes made use of this feature as it ’ s really convenient . Performance is where this device really shines . The flavour and quality of vape is outstanding . I threw as many different juices as I could through the pods and it just worked perfectly with everything . Due to this being a fairly low-powered MTL device it definitely works best with 50 / 50 e-liquids , however I did try some 70 / 30 and on the less restrictive airflow and it worked fine . The EVIO C is at its best for me on the tightest draw , with some 10mg salt nicotine . It ’ s an absolute joy to vape , outstanding flavour , MTL heaven . In summary , the Joyetech EVIO C is the perfect MTL pod device for new and experienced vapers alike . It ’ s probably not going to win any awards for its looks but this is a victory for substance over style .
PROS
- The perfect MTL draw - 2 Amp charging - Incredible flavour
CONS
- The colour of the pod can make it a little tricky to see juice level .
