OFFICER UPDATES

Editor Reagan Labert

Since the Winter Board Meeting , I have put a lot of time and effort into creating the first publication for the 2023 VJCL Forum . Unfortunately , I underestimated the time it would take and did end up finishing the Forum a few weeks later than intended . However , after careful analysis , I realized that most of the unanticipated extra time was spent working on the Forum design , which is a onetime occurrence since I am planning to use the same design for future publications . All in all , I am very pleased with the way the Forum turned out including the design , the cover ( which features original artwork from Ash Bulmer ), the articles , the photographs , and more . Currently , the Forum is waiting for the approval of one more co-chair before it can be published , but needless to say , I am very excited for its publication . After this meeting ( and after the second Co-Chair approval ), I plan to publish the Forum , advertise the publication of the Forum through an Instagram post , and begin work on the 2023 Spring VJCL Forum .

Since our last board meeting , most of what I ’ ve done has been continuing to plan and organize for the rest of the year , especially for my scrapbook . I ’ ve completed the student photo submission form , which was published in the most recent Forum and will also be put out on social media . This submission form will help students share their photos and help me with having content for my scrapbook . I ’ ve gathered my supplies for this and began drafting certain pages like the cover . I still plan to try and revive something similar to the photo of the month contest , though this will take some time since certain resources from past Historians aren ' t accessible anymore . I hope to have more concrete accomplishments by the next board meeting and am excited to share my scrapbook .

Hello ! In the short time we have been apart , I have been working on a proposal for helping folks who want to run for office at the school / chapter level , which you will hear about later . I ’ ve had the opportunity to bounce ideas off of my fellow officers , and have been keeping up to date with all of their plans , proposals , responsibilities , and talking through ideas with them . In short , it has been a productive month and I am looking forward to what comes next !
