Summer is here and with it Marvel has a slew of new titles headed to theatres. After bringing together the Avengers films for a fantastic culmination of plots, Marvel is again laying the groundwork for another Avengers film (which may feature a cameo from another group of heroes I won't mention here. No spoilers, no spoilers) Fans of the first Captain America Rejoice! The Captain has returned, this time with twice as much action.

Picking up where the Avengers left off we find Captain America (played by Chris Evans) keeping his skills sharp in D.C. Evans is as strong (and oversized) as ever and he does a great job of keeping the energy of the movie going, even during lulls in between the action. Scarlett Johansson, and Anthony Mackie do a good job at keeping the laughs coming as his partners in action but when it comes time for them to get serious the film falters a bit. There are times when Mackie's delivery feels a bit forced, however his admiration for the Captain provides for more than a few “student vs master” moments in the film. Johansson sizzles onscreen. There were plenty of times during the movie that the audience cheered for her even louder than Evans. Her character's flirtation seems a bit misdirected as Evans barely seems to be interested in her despite her open attempts to flirt. But this adds to the image of him as an American Hero. The last big name seen on the screen is Samuel Jackson, and he does a spectacular job playing the ever scowling Nick Fury.

If you're looking for a great action film for the summer, this is definitely it. The acting is spot on, the characters are true to their comic book counter parts, and it even leaves another hint about what fans can expect with the next film after the credits. I've seen it twice and if you`re a fan of what Marvel has done so far I definitely recommend seeing this one.
