Another one of the most notable events associated with the American Cancer Society
is “Relay for Life,” a day long (and sometimes all night) supportive experience for
those afflicted with cancer, survivors and their families.
Relay for Life is almost entirely volunteer driven, an extraordinary achievement con-
sidering it takes place in more than 5,000 communities and 27 countries each year.
Within Relay for Life, team members walk around a designated path for 6-24 hours.
