Hello Suzanne!
Our new Team Administrator
My name is Suzanne Lyse and I am delighted to be welcomed into the TTR family as
Team Administrator.
I am married to Remy and have 3 wonderful children. We have lived in Epsom for 20
years where we raised our family and recently celebrated our youngest child’s 21st
birthday.
I first came across Through the Roof when a friend asked if I’d be interested in
helping as a volunteer on the Dalesdown holiday for families with autistic children.
I was already working in a school helping children with learning difficulties. After
much deliberation, I said yes, and ended up volunteering on a further 6 holidays! As
much as I helped those children, I also came home feeling closer to God and fulfilled
in many ways.
My background in admin has been working in event management for hotels,
however, I retrained a few years ago as a teaching assistant and then to teach English
as a foreign language and have been happily volunteering to help refugees learn
our language and settle into their new environment.
Suzanne and Jan began work in September
The last few years, I felt I needed to find a salaried, part-time position to help my family with student accommodation and fees.
When this position became available, I knew instantly I would apply.
I grew up in a multi-national family and as a result speak French, German and am re-learning the Russian I spoke as a youngster.
We are planning to visit Russia over Christmas so I have a deadline to improve. I’ve been told I speak pre-revolution Russian.
Not so cool, but it’s a base from where I can improve.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and meantime, please be patient while I try to learn my new role. Fingers crossed and
much prayer needed!
Welcome Jan!
