“ For I know the plans I have for you ” says the Lord ...
Linda Head , TTR Administrative Assistant , shares a heart-warming story .
When 13 year-old Stephanie Elstub joined a Wheels for the World distribution team in Kenya in 2011 with her mum , little did she realise that was a significant moment in God ’ s plans for her life .
It was such a joy to have both of them with us , joining the ‘ techies ’ and myself ( I was Team Administrator ) and despite Stephanie ’ s youth , her willingness to support the team was such a blessing to us . She ran hither and thither , hunting out extra bits for wheelchair seating , cutting foam inserts for our client ’ s comfort , prepping our lunches and charming the children . She was always a cheerful , smiling and extremely willing extra pair of hands .
That Wheels trip ignited a love for Africa and its people in Stephanie which led her to spend a gap year in South Africa working with the charity , LIV Village , at
Stephie and her husband Jonatão , on their wedding day .

their community foster family village in Durban before returning for university in the UK . In her placement year from university , and again after graduating , Stephanie returned to South Africa where she has been long-term volunteering for LIV Village in Johannesburg – working with the youth in the foster community foster village and local informal settlement .
God ’ s plans for Stephanie ’ s life continue and it was wonderful to have her back in the UK briefly in January with her fiancée Jonatão for their wedding in Stephanie ’ s family church in Ashtead . They returned to South Africa , with Stephanie ’ s immediate family for a second wedding ceremony there with Jonatão ’ s family and their friends . We at Through the Roof pray for their future and God ’ s plans for it .
